Cota-Cordova was one of the biggest jumps in the entire ranking based on the jump he made in two seasons. He had a solid junior season, but Senior year he was on different timing. The 6’3 do-it-all wing led his team to a deep playoff run and was electric even then. He averaged 23.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3 assists a game, which shows a complete game and was one of the better defenders in the conference as well. He was a 1st Team All League player with how he dominated, he got to his spots and carried the way for his team as they went on a deep push. He jumps up as a big riser in the ranking, and I feel that if we saw him even more at showcases and during the season, he could’ve been even higher. Very solid career for him.

He stayed active throughout the game, working hard to find space inside and capitalizing on opportunities near the rim. His energy in the paint helped create scoring chances and kept pressure on the defense. Cora-Cordova’s ability to stay involved around the basket and produce when his team needed it most made him an important contributor in the matchup

He attacked the paint with confidence, finished through contact and made his presence felt on the glass and defensively. He followed that performance with another strong outing in Round 2, leading Colorado Springs Christian to an upset win over Yuma with 21 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Cota-Cordova’s ability to score, rebound and create for teammates has made him a difference maker and a key reason his team continues its playoff run

Cota-Codova is a new player in the sense that what we see right now is immense growth. He’s having one of the biggest jumps from one season to the other in the entire state. He’s almost doubled his production in every category and looks comfortable being the man. He’s also leading his team to victories behind his play. He’s averaging 27.4 points a game. He’s finished with 30 or more points in 4 of the last 5 games, finishes inside, and uses his size. He’s moved up over 85 spots with how he’s played to start the year and has been a force. He’s one of the top scorers in the entire state, averaging 6 rebounds and 3 steals to go along with it. He’s a player who had a solid junior year, but somehow we dropped the ball on that; we won’t again on this time around.

Cota-Cordova is an efficient downhill scorer, quick to read opposing defenses to attack the paint. Bringing good size within the backcourt, he is a physical presence who is determined to get to the rack. Often looking to push the pace in transition, the guard is incredibly proactive getting out of a defensive rebound. CSCS is currently 5-1 in league play, no small feat for the program.
