About Matthew
Expert Analysis
Duvalier Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
Wright was a top 20 scorer in the state, and this small school standout turned some heads along the way as he put up 23.9 points a game with 4.5 rebounds and 3.1 steals to go along with it. He’s an aggressive downhill guard who reads the floor well, uses his speed and quickness to get to his spots, and teams struggled to slow him down, so he got to the FT line as well. Wright scored in double digits in every single game this year, which shows off his consistency. He had some massive games where he put up 30 or more a few times, and also checks all the boxes as he impacts the game in every way. He’s a player we wish we got to see at showcases and at our events, but we enjoyed what we did get to see, as he plays the right way and scores with the best of them.

Bruce Randolph is off to a decent start to the year, and on the season, their best player has been senior guard Matthew Wright Matthew Wright 5'11" | PG/SG Bruce Randolph | 2026 State CO . Wright is not a player we have seen play too many times, but the stats are undeniable. He’s up to 23.8 points a game as a prospect who gets to his spots on the floor, gets downhill, and is a solid finisher around the basket. He’s capable of knocking down the 3-pointer, but has made it a point to get to the basket. He’s very efficient from the field and is a consistent 3-level scorer. He’s up to 4.8 rebounds and 4.2 steals a game as well, which shows the production. As soon as he starts to trust in teammates and get those assists up, he will be a well-rounded prospect that teams will have a very difficult time slowing down.
