Previous Rank: 183
-Parker stood out to our scouts as he averaged 15 ppg as the starting point guard for the Bulldogs in his sophomore season. The son of a college coach, Parker inherently understands several intricacies of the game that you often don’t find in young basketball players. Parker uses his quickness to navigate around ball screens defensively, uses a quick set of hands to poke away steals/blocks in the paint, and switched out to contest shooters on the perimeter. Parker can knock down open looks, run a team, and developed a nice bag of floaters and other finishing moves over the course of the season.

Matthew’s performance shows poise and maturity beyond his years. He can knock down deep perimeter shots while staying calm against pressure, never looking rushed or sped up by the defense. Matthew attacks the rim with confidence, finishing tough layups through contact with. What stands out most is his comfort level in the paint and his natural feel for spacing and timing. For a sophomore, he already looks comfortable playing through traffic and making smart decisions with the ball. Definitely a name to watch over the next couple years in PG County.

10p 4a 4r 2s vs Laurel
-Thought that his cerebral play at both ends of the floor was really important to Bowie picking up a big road victory in Laurel. Parker started it off with a drive and pocket pass to rolling big, banked in a deep 3 at the end of the 1Q, executed a beautiful 1-handed dot with some zip on it to a shooter off the BLOB, threw a 1-more pass to a corner shooter for 3 to put them back up 5 late in the game. But his best stretch of play came down the home stretch of the game as he ducked under a closeout by using a pump fake before hitting a running 1 dribble floater, playing pesky POA defense down the stretch, and hitting 3/4 FTs on his team’s last two possessions to seal the 7-point win.
