Hinton immediately passes the eye test. He’s big, strong and athletic. Matt jumps very well, able to wipe away shots at their highest point. He does the dirty work inside as a rebounder and second chance finisher. Against Wilson Academy, Hinton supplied 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocks while shooting 4-5 from the foul line.

is a blue-collar forward that can change a game with his motor and physicality. Hinton uses his big, wide frame well to clear out space and make himself available down low. He’s got a nice touch over the shoulder and continues to add to his collection of post moves. If Dutchtown continues the success they’ve been having early, both Hinton and Chappelle could see an uptick in their recruitment.

a big reason why. Hinton is 6’9 with some solid muscle on the frame and is a handful inside regardless of who he’s up against. A super high-motor, Hinton will find his fair share of blocks and rebounds each time out. Reinhardt was the first school to offer at the end of June.

Dutchtown was one of the toughest teams in the gym this weekend, their size and length inside proving to be a handful. While Hinton’s scoring totals won’t blow you away, his impact is tremendous. Hinton has a great build at 6’9 to pair with an especially high motor. He was great protecting the rim and tallied numerous blocks in each game. There’s still lots of room for Hinton to develop skill wise and his best basketball is certainly ahead of him. After a strong weekend, Hinton grabbed his first 4-year offer from Reinhardt.

Hinton, listed at 6-9 can do all sorts of different things on the floor whether it’s his defensive rebounding or shot blocking. Hinton also has great footwork for his size and has the ability to become an inside-out threat. He finishes exceptionally well when he is around the rim and should start gaining some college coaches interest over the next couple of weeks.

was one of the winter’s biggest stock-risers, controlling the interior for a Dutchtown team that was extremely tough. He’s a high-motor big that hounds rebounds and contests everything around the rim. Hinton has a solid 6’9 frame with long arms and has a ton of upside. I’m interested to see where Hinton ends up this spring as his recruitment could take off in April.

was one of the most talked about players following the Jamboree on Sunday and rightfully so. While Hinton has flown under-the-radar up to this point, I don’t see it remaining that way much longer. Hinton’s grown to 6’8 and has a long, solid frame. He works hard to attain position on the interior and made life tough for opposing bigs in both games. If Hinton lands with a program that can provide him exposure in the spring, his name could shoot up boards.
