1/31/26: Mason put on a lot of weight in the last nine months, most of it muscle. He plays center now. Sometimes point guard. Evaluating him as a high school player…Tidwell is dominant on the low block with both scoring and rebounding. Obviously, he can’t play there if he plans to try college basketball at 6-foot-4. Draws fouls often in 2A. Great shooting touch. Seems like he was speedier 18 months ago than he is now.

11/22/25: Last spring was a tough time for Mason Tidwell Mason Tidwell Mason Tidwell 6'4" | SG Loretto (baseball) | 2026 State TN . He tried his best to help Loretto on a postseason run. Unfortunately, Tidwell was recovering from a significant ankle injury. Through the pain, and not at all 100% healthy, Mason started at the end of the season and helped Loretto capture the 2A State Championship. The Mustangs, always a strong outfit, graduated a tremendous bunch of dudes. The timing for Tidwell’s re-emergence could not be better. Thursday evening Mason beat the buzzer and lifted LHS over Smith County in the process.
