He blocked a ton of shots in this game, and he was a constant presence around the rim. His ability to move stride for stride with smaller opponents and chase them down for blocks was very impressive. His cutting was also very impactful in this game. He moves off the ball very well, and when he is found on his cuts, he detonates on the rim with high vertical. He was also very good as a post scorer in this game and hit a tough post hook to tie the game down the stretch.

Marach showed himself to be a very disciplined and smart defender. He always stayed vertical and avoided biting on fakes, staying down and forcing heavily contested shots, while also being great at drawing charges with his high IQ and spatial awareness. His fluidity and footwork on the defensive end stood out as well. He was able to switch on to multiple different matchups and move stride for stride with smaller opponents. No matter who he was matched up on, he made sure to make their life as difficult as possible. He was elite on both sides of the glass, bringing down many rebounds in this game with hustle and high vertical. His offensive impact was great. He scored in the post with his great footwork and touch. He drew many fouls in this game because of this and hit a three off the catch, showing his ability to stretch the floor. And his most impressive play of the day was when he took flight and tomahawked a dunk over and through a defender for an and-1. If that doesn’t scream elite athleticism, I don’t know what does.

He always stayed vertical and challenged shots without jumping, avoiding fouls and making shots very tough for opponents. Even with him being very cautious as a defender, he still collected a good amount of blocks in this game with his length and fluidity. He was a constant pest in this game on defense. It seemed like he would get a finger on every pass that was thrown, while also pressuring ball handlers on the perimeter and making shots extremely difficult around the basket. His ability to get his hands on the ball also showed through on the glass as well. Again, it seemed like he would at least get a tap at every missed shot, while also coming down with many boards himself and smacking them out to his teammates. He was especially elite on the offensive glass, gaining extra possessions and finishing putbacks. He showed an ability to finish at the rim and used his scoring threat to find his teammates while on the move. Defensively, Marach was one of the most impactful players at this event. His great length and discipline under the rim, not biting on pump fakes, made him impossible to score on in the paint. As a help defender, he was dominant, swatting away shots and shutting off the rim with his great ability to recover. His footwork on this end was also immaculate, he guarded very well on the perimeter, poking away dribbles, shuting off drives, and getting in passing lanes. Offensively, Marach was also a problem for opposing defenses. He springs off the floor at a moment’s notice, which led to many dunks off drop-off passes from driving teammates as well as lobs that he snatched from the top shelf, and finished with power.
