Evan Weiss Evan Weiss 6'1" | PG Ames | 2030 IA was one of the most unique guards I saw play at the Iowa Freshman Showcase. Evan was the definition of a slasher at this event. Even with his long frame, his handle was extremely impressive. He showcased elite shiftiness and speed as a downhill driver. He got to the rim at will, and his balance and touch around the rim were some of the best I saw at this event. He was fantastic in the pick-and-roll game and used patience to score off screens and create open shots for his teammates, displaying special interior passing skill and scoring ability through fouls. He was great off the ball as well. He hit threes off the catch and attacked closeouts with relentless speed. His defensive impact also very much stood out. He utilized his length and fluid footwork to slide his feet on the perimeter and shut down drives, while also offering shot-blocking impact defensively.
