Despite all the love for Pikeville and Pike Central, it was actually Martin County that won the 15th region last season. Hale was the best player for them and he’s back after averaging over 20 points per game last year. Luke has the ability to score at a high clip but he’s also underrated as a playmaker and will have Martin County in the mix to return to Rupp by March.

Martin County made it rain 3-pointers in their upset bid against Warren Central. Hale was making shots from absolutely everywhere on the court with at least six 3-pointers in the game. Didn’t need much space and his teammates did a great job of finding him when he was open, there can’t be many better shooters in Kentucky’s 2024 class.

If you would have asked me who is leading the 15th region in RPI right now, I would have blindly said Pikeville. But Martin is 18-2 and knocked off the Panthers for the regional title. Hale is averaging an impressive 21 points per game with 52-42-78 shooting splits. That’s very high level.
