Luca is an energetic, skilled combo guard that can leave his defenders in the dust while consistently setting up his teammates with high-percentage opportunities. His vision is off the charts and he’s an excellent passer off the dribble. He’s a great shooter and can pour in points any time he gets hot, which is often, but he doesn’t make that the sole focus of his game. Dassanayake is a true two-way guard that can defend fiercely with the best competition on the floor. He uses his speed, footwork, and non-stop hustle to leave his opposing assignments frustrated and unsuccessful on both ends.

, a prospect I haven’t seen play in two years, traveling from Dallas to the Houston Christian University Elite Camp. Two years ago, his offensive game was characterized by his straight-line scoring ability, but since then, he has shown significant improvement. He has become a more versatile scorer, creating his own opportunities off the bounce. Luca’s offensive skills are evident in his ability to convert field goals from all three levels of the court, whether he’s attacking the rim or shooting off the catch. Defensively, he has also made strides. His on-ball defense has improved, allowing him to keep up with multiple opposing players on the perimeter. Additionally, he has become more active with his hands when providing help defense in driving lanes.
