Kirkland showed exactly why he’s the senior leader this team leans on. The steady ball handler controlled the tempo, organized teammates and made sure everyone was in the right spots offensively. When the moment called for it, he took over. He poured in 19 points, surpassing the 1,000 career point mark in the process, and delivered the dagger late. With AC mounting a comeback, Kirkland came up with a clutch steal and calmly finished a floater to seal the win and shut the door for good

Kirkland is a player that has quick feet and is a pest on the defensive end of the court. He seems to always find himself in the right position to come away with a loose ball and has good vision seeing plays develop and jumping the passing lane. He is able to push the ball in transition and is looking for his teammates constantly trying to get a good shot. He has some nice touch in short midrange and can knock down the short jumpers. He will be a defensive guard to keep an eye on moving forward as he will figure to stay towards the top of the steals column.
