prides himself on his rebounding (9.0 RPG), utilizing his 6’7 frame to dominate against other bigs within the interior. McCanna is an unselfish big man who’s always willing to make the extra pass and distribute the ball around. Along with his ball tracking abilities, McCanna gets to his spot efficiently with a detail-oriented approach to his shot selection. Featuring impressive footwork with impeccable court awareness, Evergreen’s star forward has earned himself nearly 15 PPG while shooting 47% from the field. Expect McCanna to build a strong senior year for himself, as Evergreen will rely heavily on his production next season.

Evergreen will rely heavily on McCanna and his 6’8” presence in the first round. Averaging 14.9 points and 9 rebounds per game, he gives them a steady interior force on both ends of the floor. His size creates matchup problems, whether he’s finishing around the rim, cleaning up second chance opportunities or protecting the paint defensively. In playoff basketball where possessions matter, his rebounding and inside scoring can control tempo and give Evergreen a strong foundation to build on

He was on the watch list, but it was due to a misunderstanding on if he’d be returning. Well, not only did he return to Evergreen, but he has them in prime position to make a deep playoff push. Evergreen is 8-3 on the year, and he’s led them in every single way. He’s putting up 18.7 points and 9.9 rebounds a game. McCanna has finished with double figures in every game, he’s shot 50% from deep, and the 6’8 big has been a matchup nightmare. He’s been aggressive despite seeing double teams and walls, he’s taking what the defense is giving him, but also pressing the issue. He makes a huge leap into the Top-30 with his play and he’s a prospect that I feel more eyes would be on if we saw him more. Expecting a huge 2nd half of the season, and for him to continue wow’ing with his play. Huge upside here.

is one of the most versatile, underrated forwards in the box state, and for good reason. The 6’7 star has tacked on 16.4 PPG on an electrifying 48% from downtown. To be a shooting big man is invaluable in today’s game, and McCanna encapsulates this role to a tee. Securing 8.8 RPG, McCanna never hesitates to crash the glass and hustle for second-chance opportunities. On an 8-3 Evergreen squad that’s been on a roll thus far, McCanna will be given plenty of chances to thrive.

McCanna brings the size and presence every team looks for in the paint, and he proved his value whenever he saw the floor for Evergreen. Offensively, he showed a strong post game where he scored with ease and backed defenders down with confidence. Adding to his arsenal, McCanna’s mid range shot continues to develop, making him even more difficult to defend. On the boards he was a force, averaging 6 rebounds per game and using his length and athleticism to secure possessions. His ability to control the glass and protect the rim with timely shot blocks gives his team a major advantage inside. With his combination of size, skill, and growing confidence, McCanna is primed for a breakout season

McCanna’s size and budding interior skillset make him a valuable name over the coming seasons, adding to Evergreen’s size in the paint. Already a capable shot blocker, the forward continues to add strength, looking to compete on the glass at the varsity level. His improvements in footwork

McCanna shows value at the point of attack, using his wide reach to deter drivers. Another value has been his willingness to stay down from shot attempts, maintaining his strength defending opponents straight up. When contesting shot attempts with arms, opposing guards have an especially tough time getting shots off. The forward should be an impactful defensive prospect over the coming seasons, staying true to the fundamentals. Another area of value has been the forward’s rebounding, maintaining position down low to outstretch opponents. Offensively, the forward is an active cutter and screener, moving quickly to relocate. They are willing to score with either hand around the rim, although their continued growth as a scorer will be interesting.
