Powell is another next-level prospect with tremendous upside and has a real chance to develop into the top name on this list. It feels like his game continues to take a step forward year after year. His combination of length, athleticism, and skill makes him an intriguing wing who can make an immediate impact on both ends of the floor.
Following a long line of standout players at Vashon, Leon helped lead the Wolverines to a 24–5 record and a fourth-place finish at state. He averaged over 13 points and five rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 55% from the field. His ability to create mismatches on both ends really stands out, and he has the skill set to impact the game in a variety of ways — including the versatility to guard multiple positions.
With recent offers from La Salle, UIC, Southern Illinois, SIUE, and Southeast Missouri, this summer will be important in shaping what’s next. If he continues trending upward — especially by showing more consistency and volume from the perimeter — it wouldn’t be surprising to see power conference programs start to reach out.

Powell’s recruitment appears to be hitting its stride, having picked up offers from LaSalle, UIC, Southern Illinois, SIUE, and Southeast Missouri over the past few months. His ceiling might be higher than anyone else on this list. A versatile and unique athlete with length, skill, and strong positional size, Powell has shown an impressive combination of physical tools and on-court instincts.
This season at Vashon, he’s increased his offensive production while continuing to make a major impact on defense, capable of guarding nearly every position on the floor. Powell is highly active in transition situations and plays with a level of flair and highlight-reel ability that’s rarely seen, making him one of the most dynamic prospects in the area. The sky could be the limit for him this summer if he’s able to get in front of the right coaches.

A 6’6″ wing player who is following in the footsteps of his father, Leon Powell, who was a standout player at Vashon and SEMO. Young Leon has excellent length and athleticism to go along with his offensive skills. He attacks the rim well and he can also pull up and hit a smooth jumper. He is expected to step into a larger role for the Wolverines as they look to defend their state champoionship.
