A 6-4 scoring wing who can fill it up from all three levels, Putman has a good feel for the game and a big frame that he uses to bounce off of defenders and get to the rim. He didn’t make any 3-pointers in the Beavers win over Iowa Valley, but the form on his jumper is good, with a high, repeatable release and plenty of range. He does a good job getting to his spots off the dribble in the halfcourt and is excellent in the mid-range area. He uses his size and athleticism to compete on the glass on both ends of the floor as well. He finished with 19 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.

Putman is a skilled wing with good size at 6-3/6-4 who will be asked to step into a much larger role this season for the Beavers following the graduations of Caden Kirkman and Aidan Walker, who combined to average 41.4 points a game. Putman put up just under 15 a game last season (14.9) on 47-37-72 shooting splits, and his ability to stretch the floor was huge for Wilton over the last few years. We’ll be curious to see how he adjusts to being the focal point of opposing game plans this season.

Lengthy shooter who will have to play the 3/4 with this teams average height. Decent handle. Solid on defense. Would be an ideal 2 guard in most situations. Showing stroke is balanced and similar every single time. Can score in bunches when given confidence. A player to know for the future.

This season Wilton high school had quiet the successful year put together by a big group of players that has stuck together ever since they were much younger. This helped the Beavers dominate their side of their conference the past two seasons in the 2A class. One of the big pieces for the group over the past few years is Landyn Putman Landyn Putman 6'3" | SG Wilton | 2024 State IA . Putman, a shooting guard, has nice size at 6’3/6’4 with a long wing-span on the floor. He is primarily a three point shooter but has worked to become more versatile over the past year or so. During the high school year he averaged just under 15 PPG on 47% shooting, including 37% from behind the three point arc. This AAU season he will  join a Team Iowa program out of Cedar Rapids before heading into his senior season. Bringing some hard nose defense and consistent scoring to that group. If he puts together a solid AAU season scoring the ball and keeps that momentum going into his last year at Wilton, he is going to be a prospect that a lot of colleges in the area will have some common interest in before things are said and done.
