Selfless forward that provided keen court awareness and consistently looked to create advantages for others. Caught team’s last game of the day and he was still moving like it was the first. Smith excelled at advancing the ball on pitch ahead passes and generated multiple assists in transition. In the ½ court setting he knew where to cut to off the ball flashing into the dunker, mid post, or elbow areas for paint touches and then kick outs. His IQ continues to show with bright activity levels in the rebounding and passing columns to go along with providing tough defensive possessions.
One of two 2029 Forwards for the Tigers that will turn heads this year. Watched him compete in April with AAU squad. Continued to provide sound and balanced action tonight from inside and out. Functionable in multiple settings w or w/o ball. Anticipates in 1/2/2 defensive setting on top. Made a couple tough buckets beneath in heavy traffic. Fundamentally thorough. Not a stat stuffer at this point but that that will change as time progresses because of IQ and effort to affect game positively.
Slots into a small or power forward spot based on team’s makeup and functionality. Comfortable operating in ball screen scenarios in the ½ court setting. Can capitalize in transition, converting off turnovers and pushing for pace. Defensively presents strong on ball pressure. Consistently crashes boards on both ends. Didn’t necessarily fill up the stat sheet but works with good IQ throughout to affect game in positive ways.
