Player Bio
About me
My name is Landon McKinney, Class of 2025, and I play for Birmingham Groves in Michigan. As. Junior, I led my team in ATO stats and had thirteen 3’s in my last five games at 49% from 3pt range.I helped lead our team to a District Championship, and was among the Top 3 highest for assists on our team for the year, averaging 3 APG. I averaged at least 1 Steal per game, my high was 4 steals in a game.
What position(s) do you play? What do you view as your strengths?
I am a versatile player! My High School team doesn’t play positions. However, I mostly play shooting guard, and sometimes PG and SF. In AAU I play Combo Guard. My style of play is very team-oriented. I see the court well and like to create assists for my teammates, but also know when to score for myself. I have a high Basketball IQ and can be a pest on defense and shoot 3’s, or in the paint.
What type of school are you looking for?
I am looking for a smaller college with small classroom sizes, where I can also get a lot of playing time and earn a degree in Business, Communications, or Sports Communications.
What are your interests outside of Basketball?
I am a member of the Kappa League leadership program. It is a mentoring program provided by members of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity who teach us about community service and how to become leaders in the future.
Closing Statement
Thank you for reading more about me. I was 1 of only 4 players on my HS team this year who played in all season games, I even played sick in our Regional Semifinal game. I helped lead my team to a District Championship. I have a very high basketball IQ, and am a good program player. I’m also very versatile and good at passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense! I can play the 1-4 positions.
