Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Clark was easily the most important part of St Paul’s offense against Milton, as both a shooter and a facilitator. When off the ball, Clark moves well and is able to shoot coming off screens with very little space or balance – the lefty can get his shot off while his feet are pointed in the wrong direction, and he has a super pretty release. But on the ball, Clark showed off some solid vision and the ability to make cross court passes out of the post. His size also allows him to finish over smaller defenders and guard a wide variety of players defensively. He won’t do much on-ball creation at Princeton, if I had to guess, but he should be a good shooter for them.

Clark wrapped up his recruitment with a commitment to Princeton University. A lefty-combo forward that has continued to get better and better, Clark capped off a terrific summer with the Middlesex Magic with his commitment. He has great length, has a good feel for the game as a passer, and can operate as a secondary playmaker in the right scheme. Known as a strong shooter, he proved this summer to be a more well-rounded scorer. He battles on the boards, shows some toughness in the paint, and is a high IQ defender that can guard multiple positions. He’s only gotten better as he’s gotten strong, with the game seemingly slowing down for him. This should be a terrific match for prospect and school, with Princeton getting a prospect with high upside and still untapped potential that could develop into one of the Ivy League’s most versatile forwards.

Clark is a special shooter. He can shoot it off the move and rarely misses an open, spot up jumper. Has also shown an improved ability to get into the paint and use his body since the last time I saw him. Great offensive feel and skill that’ll fit in well at the scholarship level.

Landon Clark Landon Clark 6'8" | PF St. Paul's | 2025 State New E is a small forward with point guard instincts and on-ball ability. He is a very talented passer who has mastered the bounce pass to back door cutters to the rim. Clark can whip passes from the baseline to find shooters on the perimeter and he manipulates the defense to find the open man by using his eyes. He can also create shots for himself by coming off screens and knocking down shots or driving to the basket while slamming it home. Clark isn’t afraid to shoot from way deep and is confident when creating shots off the dribble. His on-ball functionality is real and makes his upside mouth-watering and should be a huge target for programs and coaches to get in on this sort of talent.

Clark, who burst onto the scene this summer playing alongside Cooper Flagg with Maine United on the Nike EYBL circuit, has continued his strong play into his high school season at St. Paul’s. The lefty is a big, combo forward who shines as a secondary scorer that can really stretch the floor. He gets his feet set quickly and has a stroke that’s both consistent and clean. As he’s continued to adjust to high level competition, he’s become more comfortable attacking closeouts and finishing at the rim. Defensively, his length is his best asset and although he’s still pretty lean, he does a good job of mixing it up on the glass. He’s another high academic prospect that should definitely be on the radar of high academic programs across the country this spring.
