He competed with a willingness to sacrifice his body for the team, being first to the floor for the ball as well as operating out of the pick-and-roll, rescreening and doing it again until something opened up, showing strong screen-and-roll instincts. He was consistently first up and down the floor beating opposing bigs, generating early offense. Baker scored with a soft touch in the middle of the lane, either sprinting ahead in transition, driving hard left, or diving down the lane for quick dump-offs behind the defense. Elite shot blocker, whether it was a chasedown or weakside rotation swat, he was there to make a play on the ball and defend the rim, providing consistent rim protection.
