About Kargie
Expert Analysis
Mark Miller | Prep Hoops Scout
Cooper is an improved perimeter shooter who competes with his mobility, length and athleticism. He can get up and rip a rebound off the rim, put the ball on the floor and lead the fast break. He can also play on the perimeter in the half court, moving the ball, slashing to the rim and sinking jump shots. Cooper is an excellent run-and-jump athlete who is quick off his feet and can defend wings or lead guards. In the open court, Cooper is fast with the ball and can finish with ease above the rim. A very good athlete who has developed into a very good basketball player.

Cooper has a long frame at 6’4″and plays above the rim constantly. He had two impressive putback dunks off the rim this weekend. UTC was missing a BIG this weekend, Kargie stepped up his role nicely with rebounding and defending. Cooper was a standout at Nationals.

He is an electric guard who defends 1-4 effectively and scores the ball very well. Cooper is a leader on the team and a great passer. Kargie is a talented finisher around the rim, he goes through it, not around it!

. The long and explosive wing came in off the bench and immediately made an impact in a win over
Minnesota Heat
. He took flight for an alley-oop dunk, sprinted the floor for another transition dunk, and was slashing to the basket for some finishes in the half-court. Has a long and wiry frame combined with bounce that helps him play a bit bigger than his size. At his best slashing to the rim, but showed he can hit the open three off the catch when left in space.

Cooper came off the bench for UTC Fire against The Work Foundation and provided his team with solid play on both ends of the court. He finished with 10 points, hitting one triple, getting a basket in transition and scoring in the half court off the dribble. He also had an enormous block on a shot in the lane that appeared destined for the bottom of the net. A good athlete with length and versatility, Cooper appears ready for a big season at Wausau West in 2025-26.

At 6’2 Kargie has what appears to be a very long wingspan at his size, and he was putting it to use on both ends of the floor. Had no problem sitting deep in a stance to defend against guards, and used his long arms to poke the ball free and get out for a transition dunk on one occasion. Also slid in for a big swat at the rim for another highlight play. Offensively he’s at his best attacking the basket as he can cover so much ground with limited dribbles. Soft touch off the glass and impressive body control to finish through contact. 2026 prospect to keep an eye on moving forward.
