Anthony Jr. has the potential to breakout this season as he should get more touches on the offensive end. The 5’9 guard is a blur in the open floor as he uses his speed to blow by his defender and finishes in a variety of ways around the rim. Anthony Jr. is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. He uses his quick hands to get deflections on the defensive end and is a solid passer. Anthony Jr. can also play off the ball, which he should do throughout the course of the season.

The 2024-25 season saw Kareem Anthony transfer into Arts and handle a lot of the ball handling responsibilities for the Jaguars’ offense. As the season went on, Anthony definitely got more accustomed to shouldering a larger offensive role, having multiple double digit performances throughout the course of the season. Not only was Anthony able to display his ability to be a perimeter threat and knock down shots from behind the three point line but he also showcased his capability of using his quick first step to get in the paint and finish through contact around the basket.

A quick and dynamic point guard, Kareem Anthony does a good job of consistently putting pressure on the defense as he always seems to find a way to maintain a healthy balance between creating offense for himself as well as excelling as a facilitator and creating offense for others around him. In terms of creating for himself, Anthony does a great job of using his quick first step to get downhill and attack the paint as well as be effective from the perimeter and be creative off the bounce. In terms of creating for others, Anthony does a good job of reading the help defense and knocking when to hit the open man whether it be in the half court or in transition as well as hitting the dump off around the rim.
Transferring to Arts this season, look for Anthony to operate as the Jaguars’ point guard and be an effective decision maker for Arts’ offense this season.

Anthony Jr. is a quick and shifty guard who can score the basketball in all three levels. His three-point shot is smooth with a high and fast release point. He uses his tight handles to create that extra space on his jump shots and does a nice job at using the eye fake to get defenders in the air. Anthony Jr. will attack the rim whenever he sees an opening finishing strong with both hands. On defense, he can poke the ball free from players multiple times in a possession which then turns into fastbreak points for his team.

Anthony Jr. is a quick and shifty guard who knows how to play under control when commanding an offense. He is excellent in the transition setting making slick outlet passes to his teammates or looking to push the pace himself. His pull-up game from the midrange is consistent and will only get better. Anthony Jr. plays aggressive up-in-your-face defense and will pressure his assignment throughout a whole game.
