Simpson is an intriguing prospect out of the 918, who passes some of the early bench marks at the point guard spot. He’s a quick athlete, who thrives in transition and can get downhill in the halfcourt as well. Importantly, he’s a willing distributor in those situations. Junior year is often when prospects make big jumps, and Simpson will be one to watch if he can continue to improve his all around command as a point guard.

Lightning quick and with a tight handle, Simpson is a handful to keep out of the lane. Especially as he looks to play the role of a distributor as much as he looks to score. Consistently made the right pass, rather it’s a kick out to a shooter or threading the needle around the rim. His low center of gravity allows him to comfortably take contact on drives. Good excitement to the rising sophomore’s game, as a change of pace guard who seemingly knows how to improve his teammates.

Simpson is a speedy and defensive minded guard for the Chiefs. Hits enough from distance to be respected from three. But really shines on the defensive end, as he regularly has multi-steal games. Those steals often lead to exciting finishes in transition. Fun change of pace guard and it will be interesting to see how his complete guard skills continue to develop.
