He turned the corner very well, and his ability to get to the basket, finish around the rim, and knock down the mid-range and the deep ball, created opportunities for him to display is IQ, and his elite passing and playmaking ability. He was exceptional at changing the pace of play and did an extremely a great job finding the open man when he couldn’t get an open look. Payne’s leadership was paramount to this run, with one of his biggest highlights coming at the end of a game, when the 5’10” guard went up for a dunk that sent fans went crazy.

Elusive little guard has a knock down jumper. Excels at getting to his spots and hurting the defense with his mid-range and three-point shot. Has enough craftiness to create off the dribble and has court vision to find the open man. LaGrange has offered.

Justin’s game has been trending upward all season and it doesn’t look like that’s going to stop any time soon. At first glance, he can look undersized, but after the ball is tipped it’s evident that this kid can play. He handles the ball well, driving right or left, and always has head on the swivel, surveying the court at all times. He’s the type of PG that has a knack for making the right play consistently. Justin finishes through contact well, knocks down the 3 ball with regularity, and most importantly, he controls the pace of play in both transition and in the half court game. His dribble moves are crafty and if he has an open lane to the basket his dunking ability can be put on display. He has a very high upside and should be getting offers soon.

Capable of scoring in spurts. Plays both on and off the ball. On ball, Payne likes to attack defenders and stop on a dime from the mid-range. He uses head fakes to get defenders in the air and can exploit those who over rotate by hitting open shooters. Off the catch, Payne shoots the ball with deep range.
