He has the ability to spot up for mid-range or long jumpers, and this gives him flexibility to stretch the defense out and allow his teammates opportunities to create their own shots. I first started keeping tabs on Jonathan last year and he continues to excel every time he steps on the court; colleges may want to start looking at him before it’s too late.

During the weekend at GASO, he showcased these skills for TJ Ford Academy 3SSB 17U. He blocked shots and affected shots near the basket, ensuring his team didn’t give up paint points. Defensively, he was a key contributor to the rebounding category. Offensively, Jonathan’s play revolved around the rim, primarily getting his touches by positioning himself strategically within the offensive flow.

He singlehandedly brought PNG back from 20 points down against Montgomery to come back and win the game in the clutch. Cayetano had a monster double-double with 28 points and 15 rebounds fresh off an injury from last year. College coaches should invest in Jonathan early due to his mobility, frame, and ability to flat out dominate the post. He can also score in the midrange and run his lane effectively on fastbreaks as well.
