Jonathan Berry II
About Jonathan
Expert Analysis
Daniel Walljasper | Prep Hoops Scout
Using his size and strength to his advantage, Berry II can do a bit of everything. He uses his body well as a low-post threat, drawing tons of defensive attention with his back to the basket. Berry II scores with a soft touch and finishes through contact with little issue. He runs the floor well and has good mobility at his size, allowing him to guard every position. Berry II plays tough defense and seems to take pride in not getting beaten on D. He can take you off the dribble or score off the catch. Berry II also shows off good playmaking skills, vision, and the ability to pass out of the post.

Berry was one of the top athletes in the 13U division. A slashing guard/wing that attacked. Explosive and dangerous in transition with the ball in his hands. A physical guard that muscled his way to finishes off the glass with his dominant right hand. He’ll need to work on his craft and develop a consistent jumper to continue to be a standout player. Because the older you get, the harder it is to dominant with shear athletic ability and muscle. The gap is continuously narrowing and those with high-level skill seem to be the guys. Berry has all the physical tools to be a legitimate prospect.
