About Jonah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a versatile, dynamic player. I play with more heart and grit than anyone on the floor. I am a fierce competitor, and meticulous in developing my skills. I am a skillful SG, shooting exceptional from 3 pt and attacking the basket with speed and agility. I am also a skilled PG protecting the ball, reading the floor and making exceptional passes. I can also play SF, rebounding/getting blocks.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

A good indicator of my personality is the background image on my cell phone: It’s the word Determination with the definition below. I am a determined, hard worker that will stop at nothing to accomplish my goals. I am calm under pressure and want to be the one others depend on. I strive to be a good person, a good student, and an exceptional athlete.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have worked with mentors to develop positive leadership and teamwork skills: learning to lead by example, lift up those around me, and bring out the best in others. I have learned that not all personalities are the same. Actions and words that are effective with one person may not be effective with another. Leadership is about earning the respect of your peers.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I am very blessed and am thankful that most things are well with me.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that is a good fit academically and athletically. I am hoping to join an environment that promotes good morals and offers consistent support for growth and development. I would like to attend a college and play for a coach that has high demands and high expectations.

I left Sunday impressed with 2 aspects of Jonah’s game. First, he plays really hard. Hard enough that he left a lasting impression on me with his motor. Also, Massey proved to be a gifted shooter. Most of his damage done on the offensive end was with his three point shooting.
