Expert Analysis
Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
The senior closed out his high school career with 10 points and another solid all-around effort. A First Team All-Region selection, he demonstrated his ability to score at all three levels, knocking down perimeter shots while also attacking the rim with confidence. He is particularly effective in transition, where his ability to run the floor and finish plays makes him a consistent scoring threat.

A First Team All-Patriot District selection, he has established himself as one of the more dynamic guards in the area. Quick and athletic with the ball in his hands, he consistently breaks down defenders and gets into the paint, where he can finish or draw help and create opportunities for teammates. He is a solid open shot maker who forces defenders to respect him on the perimeter, adding balance to his offensive game.
On the defensive end, he competes with energy and toughness, embracing the challenge of guarding the ball and applying pressure. His combination of speed, shot-making ability, and willingness to defend makes him a well-rounded backcourt prospect capable of impacting the game in multiple ways.

South County made the trip north with ill intentions and their opponents felt every bit of it as they left York with a perfect 4-0 record. Anderson was the straw that stirred the drink as their primary scoring threat and he wasted no time in establishing himself as one of the better volume shot-makers in attendance. Whether he was coming off pin-downs, breaking his man down off the bounce to create space to pull the trigger, or making himself available in transition running the lanes with purpose, Anderson’s weekend consisted of a lot of buckets.
He’s being sought after by some highly-touted DIII programs such as Arcadia and Randolph Macon and if others were smart, they’d jump in to get involved as well.

Johnny Anderson had another big game for South County scoring the ball. Johnny did it in a bunch of ways and scored on all three levels. He hit a couple of threes and did an outstanding job getting to the rim and finishing in crafty ways. He hit a couple of nice mid-ranges as well. He had 27 points in a win over Richard Montgomery.

South County has struggled in this summer league, but Johnny Anderson has been a bright spot. Johnny has continued his ascension dating back to last season, and he keeps getting better. Johnny is a little undersized as a two, but he is a lights-out shooter with nice quickness. Johnny can be effective off the ball and can create his own consistently. Johnny is averaging 19 PPG for South County in 3 games, and I like what he’s done on the glass.

Johnny Anderson was a name that popped up on a lot of people’s radar after a great season. Johnny does a great job finishing at the rim and is a high-level shooter. Johnny can play both guard positions, but I think he is a little more useful as a 2. Johnny finished with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
