This was my first time ever seeing MacDonald play, and I was impressed with his combination of physical tools, toughness, and skill level. The 6-foot-1 guard has a well-built upper body for a 2030, but he moves fluidly up and down the court and can finish acrobatically with contact—the lefty has excellent touch around the hoop and understands how to leak out at the right time. The Roxbury Latin freshman also made some shots from three and had a number of impressive closeout drives where he kept his line to the rim and fought off fouls. MacDonald has a bright future ahead, especially if he continues growing.
