Flippins is a tough guard who has deceptive quickness and a tight handle on the ball. Jesiah is capable of knifing through traffic and finishing over bigger defenders at the rim. I did not see the Fern Creek point guard take many jumpers but if he can be a consistent shooter, Jesiah could be one of the top guards in the 6th region.

I expect JD to be one of the most polished floor generals in the building tomorrow. He can be very difficult for defenders to stay in front of thanks to his pace and tight handle. Already confident and skilled enough, he’s primed to be Fern Creek’s go to facilitator and scoring threat this winter. Interested to see how efficient his shooting numbers can be tomorrow and moving forward.

Jesiah averaged nearly 15 PPG and 7 APG for Kentuckiana Hoops on the NXTPRO circuit throughout the spring. He’s stayed within the Puma sphere but has made the move to Kentucky Basketball Club PRO16 to start July. A crafty guard who could shine on the bigger stage.

JD operated well as PG1 for Coach Sutton as a sophomore and will be expected to do so next season too. With the departure of Fern Creek’s leading scorer due to graduation, however, he’ll be relied upon to help fill the void. Luckily, he has the tools necessary to become a double-digit scorer for the Tigers. He’s extremely crafty as a facilitator, creates for himself and for teammates at a high level, and is a confident shooter from deep. Don’t be surprised if he’s one of the best guards in the 6th region next season.

Despite being a smaller guard, Jesiah is someone who you want running point on offense. He uses his height and strength as a weapon to get by defenders using his tight-handle. Once he gets into the paint, he is crafty enough to finish over guys in the lane. However, his best offensive skill is his elite passing, hitting guys in the shooting pocket consistently. This high-motor point guard was a fun watch this weekend.

Flippins is super quick and plays with a sort of controlled chaos when he’s on the court. Jesiah carved himself out a role on one of the best teams in Louisville this year and looks like he could be a starter next season for the Crimson. Jesiah was another prospect that I knew next to nothing about before Saturday but he impressed with his ball handling and speed with the ball in his hands. “Flip” was probably the shortest player at camp but that didn’t slow him down from making a ton of plays in the open court when he had the ball in his hands. Instead of forcing shots, Flippins racked up assists in games when others may have forced their own offense for the sake of highlights.
