Jeremy Truax Jeremy Truax 6'3" | SF Horseheads | 2024 State NY is a 6’4 shooting guard from Horseheads HS and is in the graduating class of 2024. Truax has been recognized as one of the top shooters in the Section IV and has brought is high level shooting ability to the Grassroots XL circuit. Truax has an effortless shooting motion and can get his shot off quickly from the catch and from the dribble, is known for rattling off 3’s on consecutive possessions, waits for the defense to fall asleep and makes them pay. Does a great job at creating space and getting himself open for shots. In addition to being a knock down shooter from distance, Truax has a tight handle and possesses the ability to break defenders down off the dribble and can finish through contact at the rim. Good athlete and works extremely hard on his craft, is starting to play above the rim and has had several fast break dunks in the first two sessions. Defensively he takes pride in his ability to win at the point of attack and never shy’s away from a defensive assignment. Additionally, Jeremey has been rebounding very well from the shooting guard position.

Truax is a knockdown shooter from 3 point distance both off the catch and from the dribble. We saw Jeremy play in the Section IV Class A championship game and he consistently made big plays throughout the game as he led his team to a win. His brother, Amauri Truax, got in foul trouble early, the team looked to Jeremy to keep things going smoothly and he answered the call. Truax was getting to the basket all night, converting on several and one’s while finishing through contact at the rim. Very active on the defensive end as well, gets deflections, causes disruptions and creates turnovers, leading to easy buckets in transition for himself and his team. Made some big free throws down the stretch which led to securing the the championship.

Knockdown shooter from 3 point distance and does a great job getting to the basket on “fly by” closeouts. Able to finish at the rim through contact and is a great foul shooter. In the game we watched, Jeremy knocked in 6 of 7 free throws in the fourth quarter to finish out a close game. Rebounds very well for a combo guard and has the ability to push it up the court in transition after a rebound. Extremely capable on defense whether on the ball or off the ball.
