Late in the game, with the pressure at its highest, Starr attacked the basket and finished a key layup that helped seal the victory. Defensively he was just as impactful, playing relentless defense and making his matchup work for every look. His energy, toughness and timely scoring played a major role in his team punching its ticket to the Final 4

Starr continues to elevate his game on a nightly basis, and it’s a big reason St. Mary’s is off to a strong 7–2 start. Averaging 13.3 points and 4.8 rebounds, he brings a dynamic presence from the point guard spot. His vision and feel stand out as he consistently makes the right reads and keeps teammates involved. Offensively his quick first step allows him to create off the dribble, attack gaps and finish or kick. He’s effective cutting without the ball, crashing the boards and knocking down the three. He’s rising in the rankings because his confidence and consistency are growing with each game. He’s a smooth, reliable shooter who can knock down the three and stretch the floor, forcing defenses to stay honest and creating valuable spacing for the offense. His handles are controlled and effective and he doesn’t play wild or rushed, always staying poised and making smart decisions with the ball. That balance of discipline and confidence makes him tough to guard. On the defensive end Starr flips the switch and gets right into opponents, playing intense, in your face defense that disrupts rhythm and forces mistakes. Jeremiah Starr Jeremiah Starr 6'2" | PG/SG St. Mary’s | 2026 State CO is an electric 2-way guard who takes pride in his defense and torches his matchup on offense. Within a few dribbles, Star is ready to fire away at his spot. A three-point specialist, Starr always has the green light from his coach to let it fly from downtown. As quick and shifty as Starr is, opportunities will be knocking at his door in no time.

This was one of our few times seeing Starr, but this was our best time seeing Starr. It was the confidence that stood out as he was an alpha on the day. He took over in games, the ball stayed in his hands and he was the team’s facilitator. He also got into a scorer’s bag where he was demanding the ball. He can shoot it, he consistently knocked down the baskets from inside and out and was in control all day. This was a solid event from him that I feel gets him ready.

Starr has some real point guard skills playing with poise and confidence. With the ball in his hands he was breaking down defenders off the dribble and making the right read. At the rim he finishes with touch and creativity, while his soft floater is a reliable weapon over taller defenders. What makes Starr even harder to defend is his ability to create space with a step back jumper that he hit with confidence. His scoring versatility, combined with his ability to facilitate made capable of both running the offense and taking over when needed. Defensively Starr’s quickness and anticipation allow him to stay engaged on the ball and apply pressure, helping turn stops into fast break opportunities. He showed he can impact the game on both ends while elevating those around him

At 6’1, Starr is a big guard with the size and skill that stand out. But now it is about piecing it together in a competitive and unfamiliar setting against the state’s best. He runs the point with leadership and has great vision, but also scores with ease. His shooting, handles, and finishing make him an offensive threat, and defensively, he brings toughness and instincts. This showcase is the perfect stage for Starr to prove he’s one of the top rising guards in his class who is poised for a big season.

Operating as a true floor general, he runs the point with confidence and leadership, showing excellent vision and awareness of where his teammates are at all times. Starr has shown immense value throughout the preseason, bringing consistent shooting out from distance. With the smooth handle to deal with high level defenders, the guard looks ready to playmake at the varsity level. Saint Mary’s looks for a bounce back season, bringing along a much different conglomerate of names.
