Jayquan Nelson is the closer. When Alexander needs buckets late, Nelson channels his inner Lou Williams and Jamal Crawford as he pours in points from the perimeter. While Etowah was trimming into the Cougar lead, Nelson answered every hoop with a devastating dagger of his own. Nelson finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists, scoring eight points in the fourth including back-to-back threes. Nelson scores at a moment’s notice, freely launching off the dribble from well beyond the three-point line. He’s a scary microwave scorer that should see his recruitment heat up with non-D-I schools.
