Continue ReadingEmory & Henry is getting a smooth playmaker that knows how to run a team. Hampton is a dangerous three-point shooter that has a crafty attack with the ball in his hands. He sees the floor well and is a sneaky good defender with active hands, capable of stripping opponents when they go up for layups. He tallied 16 points in a near comeback against Lanier.
Highlights
I really like when Elijah Ford Elijah Ford 6’0″ | PG Kennesaw Mountain | 2023 State GA is aggressive on offense. He was looking for his shot in Kennesaw Mountain’s 56-51 win over Effingham County. Ford’s jumper was on point, nailing three threes including two off the dribble. When he put his head down, he was able to get into the lane and score at the rim. Elijah tallied 17 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists.
Hayden Eason
Hayden Eason
With multiple starters out, Hayden Eason stepped up on the perimeter. He kicked his scoring off with a floater before finding his range from deep. Hayden drilled four threes including one from beyond half court. Eason is a solid scorer with good strength to his game. He had 17 points.
Jayquan Nelson is the closer. When Alexander needs buckets late, Nelson channels his inner Lou Williams and Jamal Crawford as he pours in points from the perimeter. While Etowah was trimming into the Cougar lead, Nelson answered every hoop with a devastating dagger of his own. Nelson finished with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists, scoring eight points in the fourth including back-to-back threes. Nelson scores at a moment’s notice, freely launching off the dribble from well beyond the three-point line. He’s a scary microwave scorer that should see his recruitment heat up with non-D-I schools.
Shots just didn’t drop for B-Roc over the first three quarters. Alexander did a good job forcing him a step farther than usual, but still with his elite deep range Rechsteiner’s shots rimmed in and out on multiple occasions. Working hard for every hoop he got, when it matter most the Virginia Tech-signee took his game to the next level, scoring 15 of his 20 points in the second half including 10 in the fourth quarter. Brandon scored on tough jumpers off the dribble and drilled long threes. Rechsteiner has such elite quickness and shiftiness with the ball. His head fakes and fast-twitch movements freeze most defenders when attacking downhill as he keeps the ball on a string. Rechsteiner finished with 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
