A high upside wing, Jaylen is a better athlete than most at this point. The best freshman in Lexington, Gent is the grandson of University of Kentucky legend Jack “Goose” Givens. Like his grandpa, Jaylen has game and is not afraid of stepping up when lights are the brightest. Expect Jaylen to play a major role for Sayre this year and potentially start his Freshman season.

Staying in Lexington, Gent is the grandson of Kentucky Wildcat great Jack Givens. Jaylen is a good athlete who excels at getting into the paint and finishing. With his athleticism, Gent is going to get on the floor at Sayre early in his career and is part of a very good 2030 class for the Spartans.

Jaylen was one of the most athletic players I watched all weekend at Flyght Academy, and he made sure to use that athleticism to impact the game. Against Ryze Athletics, he seemed to come up with every 50/50 ball. Defensively, he was a lockdown on-ball defender who made it extremely difficult for Ryze to get into their offense comfortably. Jaylen is an uber-athletic do-it-all guard with a very high ceiling and the ability to affect winning in multiple ways.

Gent is the grandson of Kentucky legend Jack “Goose” Givens. He has good tools and has a high feel for the game. It remains to be seen if Jaylen gets the size that his grandpa had but he has already been playing AAU at a high level with the Team Goose program that has been really good this spring. Gent is a player to keep tabs on as he could play a lot at Sayre, starting this summer.
