This guard also impressed with some playmaking flashes, but he was one of the leading scorers of the camp. His consistent motor was extremely impressive, because he never took plays off on either end of the floor. Bland does a really good job of getting to the rim off the dribble, but he did play off the ball a little bit, which allowed him to drive closeouts and show off a solid catch-and-shoot stroke.

Set the table on the perimeter with his ability to handle the ball, create space and rise over defenders for easy 3-pointers; went on a few personal runs with his ability to create in isolation and still didn’t try to overdo things with his shooting ability

Jayden Bland Jayden Bland 5'9" | SG/PG Hillcrest | 2030 SC was a name we had listed as a potential emerging player going into the Freshman Showcase, and he backed up the hype with a terrific showing on Sunday. He was one of the better guards across the entire event, excelling with a high motor on both ends of the floor. His defense seemed to ignite his offense, particularly in 5-on-5 games when he was one of his team’s more reliable scorers. He did so at all three levels of the floor, including an impressive ability to finish at the rim around bigger bodies. Jayden could be an important piece for Hillcrest this year, so it was good to see him at his best this weekend.

A sharpshooter who showed he could knock down shots with and without the ball in his hands; did well to show he was more than a shooter as well given his presence defensively; showed he could force turnovers and battle in the painted area for boards; solid guard with good upside to keep watch on

Jayden is drawing good reviews from those in the Upstate and could push for minutes for the Rams this year. Bland is a confident scorer for his age, capable of knocking down shots at multiple levels and getting to the rim off the dribble. With a good shooting day on Sunday, he could be one of the better offensive players in the gym.
