Jayce showed flashes of being this player last season, but boy did he come out hot against Mead Tuesday night. Swanson made it look easy from behind the arc, hitting almost every open look without hesitation and was a constant force for Gonzaga Prep on the offensive end all evening. He is so cool and easy scoring from all levels and played like their leading option offensively. He also brought the heat defensively, using his super agility and instincts to hound the ball and create turnovers. He went right at the opposition all night and looked like an extremely polished player ready to take a big leap from last season.

The more I look at it, the more clearly I see the theme for the Bullpups, toughness. Swanson only accentuates that image and is a fearless player on the hardwood. He is bursty, handles the ball well, and can get a good rhythm going with his shot. I like him as another scoring boost and a guy that will bring it on the other end too. Swanson could take a big step forward this season and is a player you aren’t afraid to send out there for big moments.

Swanson is a guy that plays with no fear. He got some decent minutes last season and showed he was ready to step right in and have an impact with no hesitation. Gonzaga Prep still has a crowded backcourt but Swanson will find his way onto the floor and I’m predicting a breakout season for him. His quickness, burst, and shooting ability could make him a big source of points this winter.
