Senior Jaxon Weeldreyer looks primed to be one of O’Gorman’s breakout ballers this season. He showed glimpses of what he’s capable of last year — especially in the opening round of the State Tournament against Harrisburg, where he delivered one of his best performances of the season, scoring 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting (including 2-of-3 from deep) while adding three offensive rebounds. Even in a narrow loss, Weeldreyer’s poise and confidence stood out as he led the Knights’ late push. Now entering his senior year, Jaxon has the experience, leadership, and skill set to take his game to the next level. A smooth perimeter shooter with the length to create space and the toughness to battle on the boards, he’s poised to be a consistent contributor and a key piece for the Knights. If he carries that same confidence and composure into this season, expect Weeldreyer to emerge as one of OG’s top breakout players in 2025–26.

Jaxson was aggressive offensively in the two games I saw. Can shoot the ball at a high-level and really didn’t make mistakes with the ball.

Weeldreyer showed nice offensive ability and was a threat to score from all over, and showed a nice middle-game, where he was knocking down jumpers if he got to a clean spot. I think he only helped his stock.

Has been scoring and impressing at the non-varsity level. Look for his name for O’Gorman in the next couple years.

Jaxon is underrated and an impact player for the 15U Grey team. He runs the PG for and he has such a great feel for the game. Wheeldryer understands when his team needs him to facilitate the offense and when he needs to be a scorer. He can go on 10-0 runs by himself. Maybe more important, Jaxon is a fantastic team defender and is always in the right position to make plays. Jaxon is a fantastic teammate and has all the intangibles a coach is looking for, and that’s why his game has taken leaps over the last few years. Wheeldryer is a great kid who should be on coaches radar’s.
