Jurmu has been gaining a lot of buzz since the fall, and with good reason. He’s a high IQ passer that has a knack for making the right pass at the right time. Jurmu is a willing passer as well. The kind of player that takes as much pride in an assist as in a bucket.

Jaxon Jurmu has been garnering a lot of scouting buzz lately and for good reason. He is in my top 5 for UP players and he has had a pretty successful offseason playing the circuit and hitting some pretty high-end college elite camps. Jaxon will lead a Marquette squad that is stacked with talent with the likes of

and Kyler Sager. Jaxon should easily average a double-double and even sneak in a few games with 10+ assists…as his passing game has pin-point accuracy. Marquette will need to enter the post-season hitting on all cylinders as they play in a very tough D1 District 1 with TC West, TC Central and Petoskey.

Jurmu is a player that college coaches will probably want on their radar. He’s a high IQ lead guard that does a nice job initiating the offense, whether that comes off a pass or a dribble move. Jurmu can get up and down the floor and be effective as a lead guard in transition. He can see the action on the move and make good decisions about where the ball needs to go.

Jurmu was very impressive at The Expo. He’s a very heady lead guard that plays with efficiency in both his handles and his passing. Jurmu seemed comfortable playing at any pace, making him solid in the half court and the open floor.

Bob Cousy was often referred to as a plumber point guard, because of his basketball wizardry and his hard-working blue-collar style of play. That is exactly how I see

‘s contributions to the Marquette Sentinels. The kid can flat-out thread a passing needle and can peripherally see the court in ways that others can’t. But that’s not where it ends, he can attack the basket and score with either hand with ease. Jaxon can also sit down and play tenacious defense. He plays hard-nosed basketball with all-out intensity, and when his youth coach told him to “move without the basketball”, he listened, as he is ALWAYS on the move. He plays with a level of intensity that any coach would love to have on their team. With his first (of many) college offers under his belt, Jaxon should make a solid guard at the next level.
