With his jump shot off, Jax wisely attacked the rim, scoring tough buckets in traffic. Abernathy excels at changing speeds and playing with balance through contact.

The only thing the Trevecca Nazarene-commit hasn’t accomplished is winning a state title — which could change this season. Abernathy is Georgia’s most prolific and more importantly, efficient scorer the state has seen since his freshman year. Jax averaged 29.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.6 steals while shooting 48% from three as a junior. His elite three-level scoring ability should plug-and-play his freshman season at the D-II level.

Jax Abernathy Jax Abernathy 6'4" | SG Christian Heritage | 2024 State GA has put together quite the high school career at Christian Heritage and we have high expectations this year as he’ll contend for a state championship once again. Abernathy is a big guard that can score in bunches. He’s a tremendous finisher at the rim and when defenses begin to collapse, Abernathy’s passing insticts shine. Combine that with his tough shotmaking ability and there’s very few ways to slow him down. Abernathy committed to Trevecca Nazarene earlier this week.

Another week, another monster outing from Jax Abernathy Jax Abernathy 6'4" | SG Christian Heritage | 2024 State GA . 27 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in a 62-34 win over Woodland. Abernathy’s bid for repeating as league MVP is in good shape as he currently leads the league in scoring (24.8) and is fourth in rebounding (9.8).

Expect to see Jax’s name on this list every week. The star posted 20 points and 12 rebounds in a 64-56 win over Whitewater. Jax leads the league in scoring (25.0) and now ranks second in rebounding (9.7).

The reigning league MVP had a loud 36 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks in a narrow 58-57 loss to Osborne. Abernathy was unguardable, scoring from all levels with four threes and shooting 8-11 from the foul line. Jax is physically strong and plays with tremendous balance. Referees commented on how he understands the game and knows the tricks of the trades on how to draw fouls once defenders become illegal. There’s not much more for Abernathy to prove at the high school level. He will be a plug-and-play scorer at the next level. His scoring average through two weeks is up to 27.5 points per game.

The 6-4 rising senior combo guard has a well-rounded game as he can finish efficiently around the rim while absorbing contact. He looks to score every time he touches the basketball as he has a knack for scoring on all three levels. On the defensive side, Abernathy is considered to be an underrated rebounder for his size but has great length and athleticism where he can crash the boards with bigger players. Abernathy currently holds offers from Alabama-Huntsville, Lee University and Trevecca-Nazarene.

Abernathy torched the league a year ago even while dealing with an injury, posting 25.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2 blocks per game. Jax is one of the state’s most efficient scorers. He holds offers from Alabama Huntsville, Lee and Trevecca. Abernathy is inching closer and closer to his first D-I offer. His productivity cannot be denied.
