Ford is a kid that I have always received calls about to find out if he is on the radar. He is an impressive athlete, skilled player and just looks like a next level talent. He is an intense competitor that never cheats the game, and in any game you can see the full spectrum of his skills. From training situations to in game situations he is always working hard. Ford is not a sleeper, but this year he is doing more than previous years and doing it will more flash. He is a high flyer and he is leading Pleasant Hill to an impressive season. He is elite in every aspect of the game. Ford is long, skilled, athletic and extremely coachable. He is a kid that coaches will love at the next level and will be a steal in the state.

One of the top athletes in attendance. Was all over the rims, including seemingly dunking on them like he was mad at them.  Explosiveness and next level size will get his foot in the door at the next level. And he’s a good shooter and overall scorer as well. 

Javonte Ford is a shooting guard who uses his athleticism to create havoc during play-ending baskets. His finishes can significantly alter the game’s momentum, especially in transition situations. In these situations, Javonte can sprint his lanes to make himself a target for easy points. Javonte is capable of shooting the ball from range if open on the perimeter. Javonte is a formidable rebounder, excelling on both ends of the court and significantly contributing to impressive rebound statistics. Defensively, Javonte’s 6’4” frame showcases his defensive versatility, as he can rotate onto multiple players.

Javonte, a senior at Pleasant Hill High School, will be concluding his high school career this season. His team is determined to make another state championship appearance, following their successful run to the state title game last season. Javonte’s athleticism alone should attract the attention of college coaches, as he possesses the versatility to excel in various positions on the court.

While he could easily be highlighted for his all-around game, any discussion about top shooters has to include Ford. He’s a knock-down three-point sniper, but that’s just the beginning. If defenders overcommit to the perimeter, he’ll punish them with a smooth mid-range jumper. And if that’s not enough, he’ll throw down a thunderous dunk on anyone near the rim.  A clear college prospect and a top-ranked player in the class of 2026, Ford is a dual-threat scorer who can light you up from outside or dominate above the rim.

Javonte Ford is a slasher that excels at filling the lanes correctly which translated into easy dunks and layups for him throughout Sunday. Whenever his OWE 17U team was on a fast break, Javonte was ready to make a highlight dunk to change the momentum of the game. Throughout the weekend, dunks of his took the opposing team’s rhythm off, affecting the players play the next couple of possessions. Defensively he has the physical tools to guard multiple positions, making him a threat on both ends of the floor.

Ford is one of the most well-rounded players in the state, consistently proving that he can impact the game in multiple ways, beyond just one statistical category. He’s a threat from all three levels and stands out as an exceptional rebounder. Always finding ways to make plays, his 18-point performance was a key factor in Pleasant Hill’s push for another state championship. Ranked as a Top 10 player in the state, Ford’s stock is only set to rise as he continues to improve and showcase his elite skill set.

Ford is an athlete who can take over offensively or defensively. His athleticism is used, at times, to gather every rebound or finish on the break with ferociousness. Ford scores from the mid-range at will because he can elavate over everyone. His defense is based on quickness and length also. This means he makes steals and finishes in the open floor with relative ease. Ford is a tough cover for any defense.

Javonte is one of the best transition players to walk the Louisiana hardwood. He is a highlight reel when he is in the open floor. His all around game steadily improves, however. His jumper from the mid-range and three is fluid and he rebounds superbly for a guard/wing. Ford is a player who can go off for big scoring numbers. That trend should continue this season.
