About TaVarius

What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?

My biggest strength is my effort and defense. I take pride in playing hard every possession, staying disciplined, and doing whatever my team needs to win. I bring energy on both ends of the floor and never give up on a play.

What are you working to improve right now?

I'm focused on becoming a more consistent shooter, improving my ball-handling under pressure, and making better decisions as a playmaker. I'm committed to getting better every day through practice and extra work outside of team workouts.

What are you looking for in a college program?

I'm looking for a program that values player development, strong relationships, accountability, and a winning culture. I want coaches who will challenge me to become the best player, student, and person I can be.

Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?

I'm respectful, coachable, and always willing to learn. I take pride in representing my family, teammates, and school the right way. I'm still growing as a player and as a person, and I work hard every day to improve both on and off the court.

What do you want to study, and what career interests you?

I'm still exploring my options, but I'm interested in pursuing a business career. Right now, my priority is improving academically and becoming the best student I can be while continuing to develop my skills on the basketball court. I'm focused on learning, growing, and taking advantage of every opportunity to become a better student, athlete, and person.

Turner has popped up in a couple different gyms and showed that he is not the same kid from last year. He has extended his shooting range, tightened his handle and he has hit the weight room. He has football player size and is playing the game with a ton of confidence. Keep an eye on him at Pleasant Hill because he plays in a system that encourages aggression. He could have a break out season and make a serious jump in the rankings.
