Nash might as well be the heart of the MWC program for the last two years, because once again it was his pure hustle, pure effort and pure intensity that tried to swing the game. The first half was a major struggle, but MWC won the third quarter 14-4. It was almost all Nash, he got to the rim at will and caused havoc helping to force turnovers. Officially he wasn’t credited with a single steal, but that number feels way off. In the second half, he did score 14 of his 17 total points. In an age where effort and school pride isn’t a guarantee, Nash is a refreshing throwback. Who was always fun to watch for the Bombers.

Pride is a key factor in being an top notch defender. And Nash’s pride jumps off the court when watching him play. One possession, he’ll sit down and guard, cut off angles and mae the opposition work just to bring the ball up the court. The next possession he’ll use his quick hands to be a thief and rip away a loose handle. Off the ball, he can play the passing lanes for steals/deflections. Or slide over and take a charge.
Defense and energy are always a winning recipe and that’s exactly what Nash brings to the Bombers. Which helped them win 5A last year, and he’ll go into the final weeks of his high school career looking to repeat.

Of all the guards on the Midwest City roster, Nash seems to most embody the Bomber toughness of recent decades. Strong, tough and prideful on the defensive end, he forced turnovers and took on the challenge of covering taller defenders. Knows when to gamble, and when to play smart by moving his feet and contesting shots. Also willing to give up his body to take charges. Has added more scoring punch to his game as a better finisher around the rim. Finished with 18 points, including a clutch 4-4 shooting performance from the line in the fourth in a tough win for the Bombers.

Fresh off a Class 5A State Title, Nash plays with the swagger and attitude of a bigger guard. Especially on the defensive end. He’s a bully defender, who mixes textbook moving of his feet to hound defenders, with the timing to rip out sloppy ball handling. Offensively he did most of his damage on drives. Where he explodes to finish high or gets to the other side of the rim to use it as a deterrent to shotblockers. He even powered through a hard foul for an “And 1” in the final minute that helped put an exclamation point on his squad’s win.
