Lake had an impressive summer with Ohio Champion 16 U on the UA Rise circuit and cracks our rankings after being a player I’ve been able to watch for a couple of years now. Lake has been a consistent producer at Prep Hoops showcases, in the Midwest Fall League and at the grassroots level. I think this winter could be Lake’s explosion at the high school level as he’ll have the opportunity to make a name for himself in the GCL Co-Ed playing for his grassroots program director Trey Scotti. Playing alongside star Grant Waters Grant Waters 6'2" | SG/CG Archbishop McNicholas | 2027 State OH , McNicholas will be looking for guys to step up and make shots and create offense and Lake could be a guy to fill that role this winter as the Rockets look to contend for the GCL Co-Ed title.

A shooting specialist from the perimeter, Lake made shots off the catch for Ohio Champion 16 U on Friday. On a team that spaced the floor well, Lake is one of a handful of guards who can fill it up in a hurry from long distance. Lake also was fouled a couple times on drives to the rim as the threat of his jumper gave him an advantage when attacking off the dribble. Add a helpside block and Lake had a nice game for his team on Friday that’s been one of the better UA Rise groups at the 16 U level.

I really liked Lake’s ability to finish with his left hand, getting to his spots as a driver and just making the game simple but remaining effective. Lake doesn’t blow you away with any physical skills but when you are skilled and know how to play you can be really effective and Lake was one of the most productive players I saw on Sunday.

Lake found a nice rhythm in this event and was very impactful. He was finding open teammates well and did it with some flashy passes. He was good at finding creative ways to get everyone the ball. He is maneuvering through traffic well. He was really good at breaking the defenders down and moving them enough to slice through the defense. He had a good understanding of when to shoot it and make the next pass.
