About James
Expert Analysis
Bobby Lopez | Prep Hoops Scout
Driggers can put points on the board in a hurry, and University of Colorado Colorado Springs is getting a dynamic offensive weapon. He thrives in the mid range, attacks the bucket with confidence and does a great job rotating off screens to get clean looks from deep. His ability to score at multiple levels keeps defenses guessing. What adds even more value is his size allowing him to play inside, position himself well for rebounds and turn those into quick transition opportunities. His versatility and scoring ability will translate to big opportunities at the next level

is one of the most prolific scorers in the state, leading the Village Mountaineers through a high-usage senior campaign. Driggers finished the season chalking up 22.0 PPG, 9.1 RPG, 1.6 SPG, and 0.7 BPG. The 6’6 superstar was a statistical outlier in Colorado, ranking 6th in the state for scoring and 2nd in his division for FTM. Massive scoring outbursts, including a 39-point game against James Irwin and a 28-point effort against Crowley County, defined his season. With the size of a power forward and the skill set of a combo guard, Driggers shot 42% from the field while serving as the focal point of the Mountaineers’ offense, earning a commitment to UC-Colorado Springs along the way.

plays with a calm command that separates him from the rest. The 6’6 senior orchestrates Village’s offense with an experienced lens. Driggers carves up defenses off the bounce while knocking down shots from deep at a lethal consistency. He changes speeds effortlessly, keeping defenders off balance before slicing into the lane for a monster jam or pulling up with confidence. As the season has progressed, so has Driggers’ poise. Over his last 3 contests, he’s elevated his production with 22 PPG, tightening his grip on the offense, proving he’s more than capable of being the engine. The Village standout is playing with a different edge right now, composed and in complete control.

Driggers is the kind of player who instantly changes the vibe of a game the moment he checks in. He’s a big, active force for Village and always moving, always engaged and always looking to make something happen. He can throw down dunks with ease, step out and knock down the three, and sees the floor well enough to hit teammates in stride for easy buckets. That combination of size, skill and vision is rare and it’s a huge part of why he’s ranked. This season we expect Driggers to take another big step forward. With his confidence growing and his game expanding, he’s primed to be a matchup nightmare who impacts the game in every possible way

Driggers put his name in as one of the most athletic players in the state this summer as he dunked, dunked, and dunked some more. He stepped up in big games and was one of the top players each time that he touched the floor. He has an excellent motor, competes defensively, and uses his athleticism for rebounding and altering shots around the rim. What I like about Driggers is his ability to stand out while not getting in the way. He’s always trying to make a play, keeps plays alive with his effort, and I feel as if he put the state on notice this summer with his play. With a big season expected of him, taking these opportunities to prove that he’s not just a product of dominating against small schools, he should head up to the event to get a few more college coaches some looks on how he fares against top talent across the state. He can benefit from another big showing!

Driggers is a player entering the event that not many people are familiar with, as he attends a very small school, but I feel that this will be a coming-out party year for him. He is a project that you do not have to run plays for but he makes them happen. He is a freak athlete whose athleticism sets him apart. He had multiple dunks, clears the glass and finishes either over or through players. He had some highlight plays, moves well, and is a low-maintenance standout who stars in his role. Great seeing him compete in this setting. His game and stature translate to the next level.

Driggers is really coming into his own as a shooter, and you can see the confidence growing every time he takes the floor. He has the ability to hit the deep ball, but it’s that mid-range jumper where he really stands out. His dribble drive is quick combined with a pull-up shot and quick release makes him tough to stop. What really catches your eye is how Driggers plays on defense. He brings serious intensity on that end of the floor. His footwork is spot on, always staying in front of his man, and his long arms make it so tough for anyone to get a clean shot off over him

continues to make outstanding jumps of progress throughout his high school career. Driggers has always been a high flyer, but he has refined his touch around the mid-range area, and defensive intensity. Approaching his final season, Driggers looks to make a statement on a developing Village squad.

Driggers remains one of the most athletic forwards in this class, comfortably elevating for two-handed finishes however possible. Still adept at getting up to the rim off of cuts, he is an especially efficient finisher around the rim, particularly when generating looks away from the ball. His defensive abilities cannot be overlooked either, capable of switching up and down lineups thanks to the athletic skill set.

Driggers high motor and size makes him a matchup nightmare within Village’s freelance league, allowing him to be a threat for a double double every night. Bringing the vertical athleticism to get well above opponents for rebounds. Knocking down a few threes in his first couple games, his ability to space the floor will be crucial towards opening up driving lanes. As a slasher, he is a pest with the above the rim scoring, nothing short of a difficult contest at the basket.
