About James

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I contribute a strong basketball IQ, athleticism, and the ability to score at all three levels (3's, mid-range, and finishing). I can use both hands, shoot the three at a high percentage, and can finish at the rim including dunkss or other types of finishes. Strong defender and rebounder.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have been the team captain on every team that I have played for at the high school level. Leadership, team chemistry, and perseverance are important to me. I work hard and will always show up for my team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I am in Beta Club, National Honor Sociey, Dacula Leadership Team, and was a member of the 2024 IDEALS Leadership Cohort.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been team captain for almost every high school or AAU team. I was selected by my high school AD to participate in a presitigious countywide leadership program in Gwinnett called IDEALS. I also am a member of the Dacula leadership team. On my own and through Beta/NHS, I have participated in numerous community service activities with Make A Difference Foundation, Trees Atlanta, and others.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for colleges with a strong basketball program and academic emphasis, preferably in the Southeast.

Sheppard was outstanding in the shooting guard role averaging 21.5 ppg and 4.5 3FGM this weekend. Habitual big shot maker, with deadly accuracy if given space to score. His perimeter performance was impressive but his ability to not rely on on the deep ball was equally impressive with a combination of great mid-range shots and around-the-rim finishes. After a heartbreaking first-round defeat by Mpire, Shepard led the response for HoopAtlanta with 25 points in a 34 point route over OTP National 2025.
