Bruce Williams | Prep Hoops Scout
One of my favorite players in the state, and perhaps the toughest pound for pound. He’s not flashy, but he’s consistent, Taylor rebounded, defended and finished at a high level during the weekend.

Taylor may be the toughest player in the state pound for pound. Vegas Elite is represented heavily this weekend, and the back to back state champ usually runs with them. He’s typecast as a glue guy, but don’t get it twisted the kid can score. Watch for him getting downhill and at the rim this weekend.

Taylor put together one of the most impressive unselfish efforts I’ve seen in recently playoff memory. Giving up 6 inches and nearly 50 pounds against not 1 but 2 players, the wing took on the challenge of defending both of them. His low post physicality, combined with his rebounding, and slashing ability, helped Democracy Prep to a history making championship.

Taylor played one of the best games I’ve seen him play. His fresh new look incuded him slashing to the bucket, finishing downhill drives. The long armed forward had a huge impact on Democracy Prep escaping with a semifinal victory.

Taylor fits the prototypical mode of a Dpac player. He’s smart, plays hard and plays for his team. The physical guard helps on the froncourt using his strength to rebound the basketball at a high level. He has shown good transition ability as well, catching and finishing for buckets.

Taylor has a good frame and plays hard. He’s also been on the floor for a ton of winning basketball over the last year. Look for him to make jump and have even more of an impact for the reigning 2A champs this year.

Taylor was good on the defensive end. With his length and upper body strength, he has no problem defending nearly every player on the floor. He showed some grab and go ability, pushing the ball and leading the break after grabbing a defenisve board.

Good frame, high motor, Taylor could turn into a problem. A downhill, attacking, driver with a good motor, if the wing improves his perimeter skills, he’ll catch the eye of scouts this summer.

Taylor is a physically imposing young player, that played spot minutes for Democracy Prep. He moves well, is athletic and possesss the aforementioned frame. Once he learns the game, and coach Duke’s system, I can easily see him becoming more important to the Democracy Prep rotating in the upcoming season.
