Charles Clark | Prep Hoops Scout
One of the top prospects in the state for a good amount of his high school career, he picked up some high major interest offers early on. Although injuries would give him some minor setbacks, he finished off his senior season strong at New Life Christian. He would pick up some interest from D1 and D2 program and eventually made his decision to attend Georgia Southwestern this week. He can score the ball from the wing at a very high level and will be a player that makes almost an immediate impact.

He takes home the County Player Of The Year Award after transferring into the program in late November/ early December. Throughout the year he showed his ability to play just about every position on the court and established himself as the top player in the county during December and January when NLCA was able to dominate matchups against two of the top public-school programs in the city. He’s a D1 talent that will be taking the JUCO route next season for at least one season.

The best way to describe his performance on both ends of the floor on Friday would be to call it a game altering performance. He has the ability to play multiple positions on the floor, rebounds at a high level and showed his ability in this matchup to be just as dominate defensively as he was offensively.

It doesn’t take long to see why college programs are reaching out on a weekly basis to inquire about him. The 6’5 wing is not only one of the best scorers in the area but also one of the better rebounders and passers in NC’s 2023 class. He scored a game high of 26 points from all three levels on the court but his ability to defend multiple positions was just as impressive.

College coaches at the LM level should be giving this young man a call immediately. He has the size, skill, toughness and competitive nature to be a player that can make an early impact at his next stop. If he has the size advantage matchup he goes to work in the paint but he’s just as good on the perimeter when he doesn’t have the height advantage.

He began his high school career at Pender HS and WOG but will finish up his senior year in the Charlotte area at 1 of 1 Prep. A slasher that can make a fair share of plays above the rim and plays the game with toughness, he picked up some early offers as a sophomore and will be a player that colleges are keeping an eye on.
