Fellow senior Jakob Koopman Jakob Koopman 6'1" | PF St. Edmond | 2026 State IA did anything and everything for the Gaels, especially on the defensive end. Tasked with guarding one of the best point guards in the state, Shay Stephens, Koopman held the Western Illinois signee to 18 points on just 5-of-19 shooting from the floor and going 0-for-6 from three.

On offense, Koopman added ten points and ten rebounds in the semifinals victory. While Koopman has certainly helped on the offensive side of the ball this season, his matchup with Stephens may have been what got the Gaels over the top and into the championship game.
