Jaden Constant

Expert Analysis

Constant remains a big time threat from deep. Especially with a flurry of threes he hit in the second half. Where his game is growing, he spent more time on the ball. Looks stronger and more confident with the ball. The next step will be a better understanding on driving to create as much as to score. Took some tough looks in the mid-range, that possibly could’ve been better served by moving the ball. Playing with a shot clock might’ve been a factor in some of those looks, so it was still good learning reps for the next level.

In Putnam City West’s Monday victory, Constant closed the game strongly with winning plays. Grabbing rebounds and pushing it, an impressive steal and score off an inbounds play, and improved driving in the halfcourt were key parts of that performance. Over the last year, the competitive guard has turned from a quality shooter, to a more complete all around weapon.

It’s been a steady climb for Constant over the last year. From hitting deep triples at Oklahoma State’s team camp, to shooting over 40% from three for the season at Putnam City West; the sharpshooter has consistently proven his bona fides as a quality shooter. This was his loudest performance yet. On Saturday morning in Phoenix against a talented squad from Philly, Constant went off for a game high 25 points. Including a 5-8 performance from beyond the arc. With solid size and some playmaking skills, the 2024 scoring guard is continuing to become an intriguing prospect with his ability to stretch defenses.

Despite being one of the best programs in Class 6A over the last decade, Putnam City West has felt like one of the more under-appreciated teams in the state this season. Because they struggled against a national schedule, the Patriots have a lower seed going into the playoffs and are a dangerous team to keep an eye on over the next ten days. One of their breakout stars this season has been junior guard

. We wrote about Constant a few weeks ago when we put a spotlight on the Patriots heading into the home stretch of the regular season. Constant was more of a role player for PC West last year but he has turned into their leading scorer and shooter from beyond the arc this season. Constant does a lot of his damage from three-point range and the PC West backcourt of Constant and fellow 2024 standouts

. Coming into the season, Constant was known more for being a role player but he’s been one of PC West’s top scorers game in and game out. And we’ve heard about it from a few people already this month. Our prospect rankings have not been updated since September and constant was not on the 2024 rankings. They will get updated next month and when they are, Constant is going to be fairly high, going from unranked to soaring up the rankings. Constant has been one of the more reliable players for the Patriots on the offensive end of the floor with his scoring ability from just about anywhere.
