Expert Analysis
Scott Hankamp | Prep Hoops Scout
Plamondon has been a big time force for Glen Lake. He’s one of the best rebounders in the state and can score off put backs, with his back to the basket and even facing the rim. Plamondon is underrated when it comes to his ability to attack with a 2 dribble drive. He’s been making great decisions with the ball as well.

Jacob has been dominant recently with huge performances of 49 points, 31 points, and 30 points, including numerous 20+ rebound efforts. His 13.9 rebounds per game make him 3rd in the state of Michigan while averaging almost 24 points per game.

He has his team off to a 9-1 start, including a victory against a state title contender. Not to mention Plamondon just tied a school record with 49 points in that victory. Saying that he’s been “virtually unstoppable in the paint” wouldn’t be accurate. There’s nothing virtual about it. He’s been unstoppable.

Intra-division matchup between two undefeated teams. Glen Lake at 3-0 (two games postponed due to inclement weather) hosts a 5-0 Harbor Springs this Wednesday. Glen Lake had a bit of a test against Elk Rapids to start the season but has cruised handily since then. Watched Harbor Springs squeak past Charlevoix last Friday, and they will need to bring a lot of energy to go into Glen Lake’s gym and take care of business. I’ll be interested to see what defensive schemes Coach Flynn throws at the Lakers to keep one of the better forwards in the state,

While they obviously won’t guard each other, this will be a classic strength on strength matchup. We said above that it will be tough to score in the paint and Plamondon is really the reason. If he controls the post and the boards, limiting Charlevoix’s second chance opportunities, it will go a long way towards a win.

Plamondon will lead Glen Lake in a game against Elk Rapids. If you want to see a post player dominate the glass, this is the guy for you. I wouldn’t bat an eye if he threw up a 20/20 in points and rebounds.

Plamondon made a huge jump in the player rankings. He’s just too much of a force near the rim not to. Plamondon could nap his way to a points and rebounds double-double. He’s underrated an an overall athlete, and when you combine that with his power underneath, that combo becomes very scary for opponents,
