About Jacen

What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?

My biggest strength as a player is my versatility and competitiveness. I can impact the game on both ends of the court, whether that’s scoring, defending, rebounding, or making the right pass. I bring energy every possession and stay aggressive, especially when the game gets tough.

What are you working to improve right now?

Right now, I’m working on becoming a more consistent shooter and improving my ball-handling. I’m also focused on getting stronger, making better decisions under pressure, and becoming a better defender. My goal is to keep improving every part of my game so I can be a more complete and reliable player.

What are you looking for in a college program?

I’m looking for a college program that will challenge me to grow both on and off the court. I want to be around coaches and teammates who believe in hard work, development, and competing at a high level. Academically, I’m looking for a school that will prepare me for my future while giving me the opportunity to pursue my goal of playing college basketball.

Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?

Coaches should know that I’m a hardworking, respectful, and coachable person. I take my academics seriously, value my relationships with my teammates and coaches, and always try to represent myself and my family the right way. I’m motivated to keep learning, improving, and becoming the best version of myself both on and off the co

What do you want to study, and what career interests you?

I’m interested in studying business and entrepreneurship because I enjoy learning about how businesses are built, managed, and grown. Long term, I’m interested in having a career in business and possibly starting my own company. I want an education that gives me the skills and opportunities to be successful both on and off the court.

Padial was one of the better freshman in the MIAA last season—he was named a league all-star and started every single game at the forward position. The 6-foot-5 rising sophomore has really solid footwork and feel in the post and a knack for using his drop-step moves and strength to create easy finishing angles for himself in the paint. He can also step out and knock down the open three ball, something that’ll make him more difficult to guard for opposing forwards. Padial had a nice spring and summer for Team Sims, and he has really improved his body over the last couple months, so his conditioning and speed should be the best they’ve been. Bright future ahead.
