An injury slowed McFarlin’s start to his season. But he’s been finding his grove in January. Bouncy forward prospect, had moments of above the rim play. The flashes are big hints at his high potential. Most of his offensive production came in the first half. Still raw, but one of the more intriguing names to track in Oklahoma’s promising Class of 2028.

One of the top athletes in attendance. Is explosive and strong as a rim rattling dunker. Looks outstanding running the floor for his age and size. Even capable of putting it on the deck a bit himself. If he doesn’t grow anymore, clearly has the body type and athleticism to become a wing. But if he does grow a bit more, could easily become one of the most dominant interior forces in Oklahoma. Son of an Oklahoma State Cowboy standout. While also sharing some similarities at the same stage in his development to the Boone Twins, also of Oklahoma State.

A high-major Division I prospect in the making with elite two-way versatility and rapidly growing upside. McFarlin’s defensive prowess was on full display, his length was disruptive in the passing lanes during press situations, and his ability to wall up and contain in isolation made him a nightmare for opposing bigs. His vertical explosiveness translated into standing dunks, lob finishes. and quick second-jump putbacks. He high-pointed rebounds with aggression and displayed advanced timing as a shot blocker. Offensively, he spaced the floor well, showing confidence as a catch-and-shoot threat from the corner. In the championship matchup, he expanded his offensive package by knocking down multiple threes from the wing, keeping his team within striking distance. His blend of passion, physical tools, and impact on both ends makes him one of the premier prospects in the class.

A naturally bouncy forward with elite vertical pop, McFarlin was a force around the rim. Ivan’s quick first and second jumps made him a constant threat on the offensive glass, whether he was finishing put-backs off missed shots or skying over defenders to cleanup his own miss. Defensively, that same bounce made Ivan McFarlin an impactful rim protector, rising up for emphatic blocks or contesting with verticality, always challenging shots with timing and explosion.
